Welcome Home Baskets
Do you remember moving into your first home? Wasn’t it exciting?! Although this is a happy time for our guests, men often worry about being able to afford basic household items. Putting together a “Welcome Home” basket is a great way to help move a man home.
The most needed items for Welcome Home Baskets are: pots and pans, utensils, brooms and mops, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap.
Our Ultimate “Wish” – a Car
Our housing specialists are working hard every day to move men home. Case managers transport men around the city to look at housing options and follow-up with the men we’ve recently housed.
If you have a vehicle you are willing to donate, please consider the needs of the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte (all donations are tax deductible!).
Be sure to visit our Amazon wish list page to find out how you can help men experiencing homelessness with just one click!
A Word On Clothing and Food Donations
Clothing Donations: We love the generosity of our donors! Although we would like to welcome all your donations, be aware that we are unable to accept used clothing items. Wondering where you can take gently used clothes? Check out the Crisis Assistance Ministry’s Free Clothing Store. You can find more information on their website!
Food Donations: Please note that we are more likely to use your donation if food is packaged with an expiration date. We this for the safety of our men, as well as certain funding mandates. Keep in mind that we plan meals a week in advance and prepare to serve up to 200 men per meal. We ask that you kindly not deliver food during our peak meal serving times (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m daily). Thank you!
If you have additional questions about in-kind donations, email our Philanthropy Team or call 704-334-3187 ext. 109.
