Randall Hitt, MSC’s new Director of Philanthropy

I’m excited to announce that Randall Hitt will be joining the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte (MSC) team the first week of August.  Randall is an experienced nonprofit professional and will oversee all fundraising, development, and communications strategies as our Director of Philanthropy.  Randall is coming to MSC after several years as the Chief Advancement Officer at Community Link, where he was instrumental in establishing their philanthropic direction and stakeholder engagement.  Randall’s nonprofit experience in Charlotte goes back to when he was Director of Development for The Relatives in the early 1990s.  Randall serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Charlotte Chapter).  He earned his Master of Public Administration degree from UNCC and has a Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State (Go AppState!).

Randall will be joining an experienced team at MSC and a philanthropy program that has grown tremendously under the successful guidance of his predecessors.  He is excited about taking our philanthropic efforts to the next level so MSC can have an even greater impact on ending homelessness for the men we serve and our community.  After taking a summer vacation with his daughters, Randall will begin work at MSC the first week of August.  The entire MSC family is excited to have Randall join us and I know you will all enjoy getting to know him in the coming months.

In September 2008 I became the Executive Director of the Men's Shelter of Charlotte. I've spent almost 15 years working to end homelessness in North Carolina. After working with homeless and runaway youth in Raleigh, I served as the Director of the South Wilmington Street Center (men's shelter) in Wake County and then worked on Orange County's 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness. I am a former board chair for the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness and former chair of the Homeless Services Network in Charlotte. In 2014 I served as the partner agency representative on the United Way Central Carolinas board of directors.
