Welcome Home Baskets
Think about what we all need if moving into an apartment. Take those ideas and put together a welcome basket of love for one of our men. “Starters” for pots/pans, utensils, dish towels and soap, broom, paper towels, and hand soap are treasured items for our men!
Our Ultimate “Wish” – a Vehicle
Our housing case management team is hard at work moving men home. This means they are transporting men around the city to look at housing options as well as driving to visit and check on men who we’ve recently housed.
If you’ve got a vehicle with which you might be willing to part for a tax-deductible donation, consider us as an option.
We’ve got a current demand for three vehicles.
Be sure to visit our Amazon wish list page to find out how with just one click you can send some amazing stuff to our men!
A Word On Clothing and Food Donations
We love your spirit as a donor! And, while we’d like to welcome all your donations, be aware that our capacity is limited to effectively take and distribute used clothing. That’s why we partner with our friends at Crisis Assistance Ministry through their Free Clothing Store and ask that you take your donations there. More can be found on their website page.
As to food donations, we’re more likely to use your donation if the food is packaged with an expiration date and is larger in bulk. We do this not only for the safety of our men, but to comply with some funding mandates. Keep in mind that we plan meals for our men a week in advance and prepare for a meal to serve up to 200 men at a time. No one wants to waste food, but please consider what you are bringing to our men and whether we’re realistically able to serve it to them. We also ask that you please consider not delivering food during our peak meal serving times (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m daily). Thank you!
