Call to Action - How To Help

Volunteer

Find The Ideal Volunteer Experience For YOU!

We love our volunteers and greatly appreciate you visiting to learn more on how YOU can help our men and mission.

If you are inquiring about court-ordered service, jump now to the bottom of this page. Otherwise, read on and let’s find that right opportunity for you!

Serve a Meal

Serving five meals a day between two shelters — EVERY DAY — is only accomplished because of our dedicated volunteers. Individuals and group experiences are available to prepare and serve meals.

  • Statesville Avenue | Breakfast and Dinner
  • Tryon Street | Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Consider sponsoring a meal for $500 to serve 300 men!

Coach in our Housing and Employment Resource Center (HERC)

Work one-on-one with our men to help them gain meaningful employment, search for housing, and apply for benefits. This goes a long way to help our men move home!

Sponsor an Ice Cream and Game-Day Social

Share the love with our men with some fun and relaxation. Typically held in the afternoon, our men always find the time enjoyable.

Move a Man Home (Moving Brigade)

There’s certainly no place like home. And, nothing like helping a man who is leaving our Shelter move into their new home. Typically we look for a group of 4-6 individuals to spend a morning or afternoon pairing with one of our Case Managers to help a man move in furniture and other donated items. Times will vary and we seek to provide your “crew” with as much notice as possible for your planning. You might also consider helping a man with putting together a welcome home basket!

Distribute Items at our Commissary

Toiletries, basic need items and limited clothing are available for distribution through our Shelter’s commissary with the help of our dedicated volunteers.
