Colonel Sutherland's Visit to MSC

Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colonel David Sutherland visited the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte on September 7, 2011. He was in Charlotte to meet with community leaders to talk about how to better the transition and reintegration process for our veterans coming back from service around the world.

MSC Ends Homelessness for Over 300 Men
About a year ago, the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte adopted a new vision statement, “Our vision is to serve as the catalyst for systemic change to end homelessness in our community.” We received a lot of feedback about this bold statement. Some are excited that we are willing to tackle the entire issue surrounding homelessness, not just the shelter piece. Many more are doubtful, saying that homelessness will always be a part of our community.
